Christine Bonarrigo and Emily Hernberg have taught a senior elective,
Literature of the Holocaust, at New Canaan High School for many years. In this outstanding course, students read literature written by survivors, including memoirs, poetry, diaries, and songs.
These works pose serious questions, such as "Why did the Holocaust happen?" and "How do real individuals deal with human trauma and devastation?"
In addition to teaching English classes and Honors Classes, Christine Bonarrigo created this Holocaust Literature Class, and Emily Hernberg has taken it to new heights.
