How you can help
PJ LIBRARY LETTERS & DRAWINGS FOR SENIOR-CARE FACILITIES
Our PJ Library coordinator, Monique Lions-Greenspan, has created a wonderful new effort to provide comfort to senior adults who are feeling isolated and lonely in local nursing homes and assisted-living facilities by asking children to write letters or draw pictures to be delivered to senior-care facilities. Learn more about this special project and how your children can participate here.
VOLUNTEER TO DELIVER MEALS TO ELDERLY
Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County is in need of volunteers to pick up and deliver kosher meals to seniors and shut-ins every Thursday. Volunteers will pick up food outside the building at The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus (4200 Park Ave., Bridgeport) and deliver to clients' doorsteps in the Upper Fairfield County area. Times are flexible. Contact Jill Knopoff, Volunteer Coordinator for Hirsch Kosher Home Delivered Meals: 203-998-7855 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
DONATE USED COMPUTERS TO STUDENTS IN NEED
If you have a used laptop or computer that you no longer use or need, there are children in Bridgeport who do not have computer access right now and cannot log in to their online school courses. Our friends at the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport are collecting used laptops and computers to distribute to Bridgeport youth at this time. If you have a computer or laptop to donate, please contact Rev. Cass Shaw at CassShaw@ccgb.org.
MAKE OUTREACH CALLS
Federation staff and volunteers are reaching out to community-members to check in and offer help where needed. Join our phone team! Contact Janet Wainright to participate: email@example.com
