Dancing with the Dead:
An Evening with Author/Photographer Rosie McGee
Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County is excited to present:
Join us on
Sunday evening, October 21, 2018 at 7 p.m.
at The Acoustic (2926 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport)
for a very special Jewish Deadhead gathering
featuring photographer Rosie McGee, author of
Dancing with the Dead—A Photographic Memoir.
During author-photographer Rosie McGee’s photo presentation, “The Grateful Dead: Before, During & After the ‘Summer of Love,’” she will show many of her intimate photos of the Dead, taken when she lived, traveled, and worked with them during their first decade as a band. She will read short excerpts from her book and tell additional stories from those magical years.
At the end of her presentation, Rosie will take questions from the audience. In addition, she’ll have a selection of signed and mounted photos available for purchase, as well as copies of her book, which she’ll gladly personalize and sign to you, or to anyone to whom you might be giving it as a gift.
Rosie's presentation will be followed by mini-sets of Dead tunes by
Jewish community-based bands Exit 43 and WheelsUp!, followed by an open jam.
Registration is required,
with a $5 minimum suggested contribution per attendee.*
Online registration is closed,
but we are happy to take your registration and donation at the door.
*Those who contributed toward last year's postponed Dancing with the Dead event are not required to contribute for this year's gathering.
