HELP US FIGHT HUNGER IN UPPER FAIRFIELD COUNTY
Hunger has become an increasing challenge in our community, with individuals and families of all ages -- including those who never would have imagined themselves food-insecure -- finding that they are no longer in a position to regularly put food on their tables. Among the obstacles in addressing this challenge has been the lack of a kosher food pantry in Upper Fairfield County.
We are thrilled that our partners at Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County are working with our friends at Congregation B’nai Israel in Bridgeport to create the first kosher food pantry in Upper Fairfield County this year. In addition, Schoke JFS plans to launch a mobile food pantry this fall.
In order to fully fund the first-year operations of these new kosher food pantries, our Federation has created a matching grant of $15,000, matching dollar-for-dollar every contribution received for this purpose in response to our 2021 annual gala, up to $15,000.
With your help, we can provide Schoke JFS with a total of $30,000 -- covering the full first-year operating costs of these new kosher food pantries.
In order to qualify for the match, contributions (or pledges) must be made by Friday, March 26, 2021.
