Merkaz parents play an integral role in the success of our community program. We truly welcome and appreciate the support and participation of our families, either as members of our Merkaz Parent, Teacher, Student Organization, volunteers on Tuesday evenings, assistance with special programs and events, or sharing your expertise and stories with our Merkaz teens as a guest speaker.

Join The Merkaz Parent, Teacher, Student Organization (PTSO)

The PTSO is a committee that provides an opportunity for parents, teachers, and students to come together to discuss issues, concerns, and ideas to enhance our students’ educational experience and ties to Judaism. Our purpose is to help foster open communication and a sense of support, pride, enthusiasm, and excellence for the educational process and social development of our teens. .

Parents or guardians of Merkaz students are encouraged to join the PTSO! Your participation may also include special events, fundraisers, volunteering on Tuesday evenings, office help, community outreach, marketing and publicity for Merkaz, and/or sub-committees including Graduation and Awards.

Volunteer on Tuesday Evenings or Assist at Other Times

Tuesday volunteers are instrumental in supporting the Merkaz program, faculty, students, and the administration. It is also a wonderful opportunity to get an inside view of the Magic of Merkaz and observe the energy and enthusiasm of our students and faculty. You need only volunteer once or as often as you like. We appreciate it and you will be assisting with other volunteers.

On occasion, we also need office help, assistance with special programs, or Sunday classes.

Be a Guest Speaker

Many classes at Merkaz invite guest speakers in to share their expertise, experiences, special ties to Judaism, and personal stories. The opportunity for students to have an up close and personal experience with our community speakers is often enlightening, compelling, inspiring, and empowering. Take a look at our Merkaz Catalog and if you see an area that you would be willing to share with our teens, please let us know.
