Registration For  2021-2022 School Year

Registration will begin the end of August and continue through September. All courses will be held on line. The classes will be smaller, providing more individual attention, and the topics have been tailored to meet the time we are currently in. Registration packets were mailed to returning students, and potential new students. If you did not receive a packet, all the forms can be downloaded. A course description sheet can be found under the Program tab.    A complete packet includes a Registration Form, along with the payment or completed Payment Plan and deposit, and a completed course selection form. Please fill in the forms completely.

A Completed Registration Packet Must Include:

  • Registration Form

  • Course Selection Form

  • Tuition Form with Full Payment

OR

  • A Completed Payment Plan

Full payment is due at the time of registration.

A non-refundable $150 registration deposit is required to accompany a completed payment plan or an application for a tuition adjustment.

Payment may be made by a check payable to “Merkaz” or a credit card.

Course Requirements

Merkaz students may choose from an abundance of classes and programs. There are so many opportunities to deepen your understanding and enhance your learning, with courses and activities that will certainly appeal to the most diverse interests and learning styles. Check out what Merkaz students have said about their experiences on both inside covers of this catalog!

Be sure to meet the following course distribution requirements. Enroll in at least 2 courses in each of the following divisions over your 4 years at Merkaz.

Course Divisions

Division A -  Text and Thought

Division B -  Contemporary Topics

Division C -  History and Society

Division D -  The Arts and Literature

Please note:

  • Students are encouraged to select a balance of courses over the four years from Divisions A, B, C, and D. It is each student’s responsibility to keep track of his or her course requirements. To assist in this process, a transcript is provided each year with the registration forms for our returning students.

  • Course Divisions are included for each class with the course number. For example, D3540 is a course that satisfies the “D” requirement.

  • Course listed with two letters preceding the number will qualify for either division. For example, BC xxxx qualifies for either Division B or C to fulfill your requirements.

Class Placement

All efforts will be made to accommodate the class choices made to best meet the needs of the student, and at the discretion of the Head of School, based upon interests, pre-requisites, course distribution, and class composition.

ATTENTION SENIORS ~ PRIORITY PLACEMENT!

Seniors receive preference for course choices on a first-come, first-served basis!
